424E Switchable 2WD / 4WD Electric Recumbent Quad
Four 24-inch wheels · Selectable 2WD / 4WD · 6061-T6 aluminum frame · 500W or 1000W electric configurations
The TrikExplor 424E is a four-wheel recumbent quad developed for recreational riding, touring and carrying suitable equipment. Its switchable drive system, four-wheel chassis and two available electric configurations distinguish it from our narrower-purpose road and fat-tire trikes. Select your configuration according to typical surfaces, rider weight and intended cargo, rather than relying on a single terrain claim.
Frame, Four-Wheel Layout and Steering
The non-folding 6061-T6 aluminum frame supports a reclined mesh-seat riding position, under-seat steering and a four-wheel chassis. The front assembly and wheel spacing are visible in the original technical photographs below. A four-wheel platform does not eliminate rollover risk; cornering speed, slopes, surface and load distribution all matter.
Selectable 2WD / 4WD and Differential System
The 424E is specified with a switchable 2WD / 4WD drivetrain. The drivetrain uses a rear secondary drive stage, with drive-mode selection described separately from the mechanical chain transmission. Drive-mode selection affects how power is transmitted, but does not guarantee traction on slippery surfaces. Ask our engineering team about suitable drive-mode use and any limits for your planned terrain.
Choose Your Motor and Battery Configuration
Standard 424E — $7,499
Bafang 48V 500W mid-drive motor with one 48V 20Ah lithium battery.
Upgraded 424E — $8,199
1000W motor configuration and two 48V 20Ah lithium batteries, as specified in the product options.
Motor rating and battery capacity are configuration specifications, not fixed promises of hill-climbing ability, speed or range. Actual results depend on rider load, terrain, assistance settings and operating conditions.
Rear Suspension, Wheels and Braking
The 424E uses DNM adjustable rear air-shock suspension, 24 × 1.95-inch tires and Bengal hydraulic disc brakes. The 424E uses DNM adjustable rear air-shock suspension and supports a maximum rider weight of 130 kg. Rear cargo load limits should be confirmed separately.
Seat, Controls and Cargo
The mesh seat provides a ventilated reclined riding position, with accessible steering and display controls. Rear cargo capacity depends on the rack, attached case and total load distribution; no unverified rack payload is implied. Lighting shown in a photograph may reflect an individual setup; local rules and current lamp specifications should be confirmed.

424E or F426E?
The 424E uses the published 24 × 1.95-inch wheel setup and switchable drive architecture. The F426E is the fat-tire alternative; tire choice should reflect your regular surfaces and handling preferences. Compare both vehicles' dimensions, equipment and tire specifications before choosing.
