    Type: Recumbent Trike

Formerly the M-009F — same trike, clearer name.

Folds Flat — Seat Stays On  |  Nothing to Remove, No Tools  |  Flat in ≈2 Minutes  |  Rear Suspension + Ergo-Mesh Seat  |  Parking Brake Standard  |  $2,099

Most folding trikes make you remove the seat first — one more part to carry, store, and eventually leave behind in a parking lot. The M009FD's seat folds down with the frame: the whole trike collapses flat in about 2 minutes, no tools needed, and when you're done there is nothing in your hands and nothing left behind. Folded: 125 × 88 × 75 cm — it lies flat on an SUV cargo floor, across a back seat, in an RV bay, or along the garat-alignM009FD folded flat with storage dimensions marked

Underneath the fold is our proven M009 platform: spring rear suspension, an ergo-mesh seat, Shimano gearing, and a 26″ rear wheel. The honest trade-off: the steel folding frame makes it the heaviest of our three folders at 40 kg. If you'll mostly fold it and roll it into a corner, this is the smartest money in our folding lineup. If you'll lift it into a car every day, read about the M320 below before you decide.

This Trike Is For You If…

    • You hate fuss: nothing comes off, no tools — no seat to remove, no parts to lose
    • You want it to lie flat — SUV cargo floor, back seat, RV bay, along a wall
    • You fold it often and want it done in about 2 minutes
    • You want full comfort — rear suspension, mesh seat, 26″ rear wheel — at a mid-range price

    Consider Another Model If…

    • It lives at home and budget leads → the M009 rides the same platform for $400 less
    • You'll lift it into a car regularly — 40 kg is real weight → the M320 is 19 kg and rolls like luggage
    • You're flying with it → that's the M320's job

M009FD vs. the Other Folders — in 30 Seconds

    • M009FD (this trike): the easiest fold — no tools, nothing comes off, flat in 2 minutes, travels in larger trunks and back seats. The tradeoff: 40 kg.
    • M009 ($1,699): same ride platform, $400 less — but the seat comes off (wrench needed) and it stands upright for home storage only.
    • M320 ($3,099): half the weight (19 kg), packs to a third of the volume, rolls like luggage — the travel machine.

    A Proven Ride Underneath

Take away the clever fold and the M009FD is still a trike we'd sell on its own. Spring rear suspension smooths broken pavement; the ergo-mesh seat supports you through an afternoon of riding; the 26″ rear wheel keeps the pace easy and the rolling smooth. The fold is the bonus. The ride is the reason.

Real Shimano Gears, Real Disc Brakes

A 24-speed Shimano drivetrain (Tourney/Acera) with an 11–34T cassette — low enough for real hills, tall enough to hold speed on the flat, and serviceable at any bike shop on earth. Braking comes from Avid BB5 mechanical disc brakes on both front wheels plus a Promax V-brake at the rear — predictable stopping in the wet, with pads any shop stocks. No proprietary parts, no mystery hardware.

    The Fold: Nothing Comes Off

Here's the moment that sells this trike: you stop, fold, and walk away with empty hands. No wrench, no bolt, no seat leaning against a fence while you wrestle a frame. The seat folds down with the frame; the frame folds flat — about 2 minutes, start to finish. It's the only one of our three folders that works this way: the M009 needs a wrench and its seat removed, and the M320 starts with the seat coming off too. No parts in a bag you forget at the trailhead. Nothing to lose, literally.

Flat Is a Different Kind of Small

The M009FD doesn't fold smaller than the M009 — it folds flatter and smarter. Flat means it lies on an SUV or wagon cargo floor, slides across the back seat, fits an RV bay, or waits along the garage wall without tipping. Honest limit: at 125 × 88 cm it's for larger trunks and back seats — measure your trunk opening first, or email us your car model and we'll tell you straight. Need it small enough for any trunk? That's the M320.

    It Waits for You

Parking brake, standard — like every TrikExplor trike. Stop on a slope, lock it, swing your legs out. The trike stands patient; no rolling, no hunting for a wall. A small lever that changes how every stop feels.

    Fits More Riders

The seat adjusts to fit riders from 160 to 195 cm (5'3"–6'5"), up to a 125 kg maximum load. One trike covers most households.

Want a Motor? Meet the M-009FE

Same trike, same zero-fuss fold — plus electric assist, selectable as a variant above:

    • M-009FE 250W — $2,799: 36V 250W rear hub motor, 36V 13Ah lithium battery, LCD display, cadence-sensing pedal assist. The smooth, EU-friendly choice — flattens hills without changing how the trike rides.
    • M-009FE 500W — $3,199: 500W rear hub motor with a bigger 48V 20Ah battery — same LCD display and cadence pedal assist as the 250W, more power for steeper terrain and heavier loads.

Two honest notes. First: the electric version runs a 21-speed Shimano drivetrain (3×7) instead of the pedal model's 24-speed — with a motor doing the hill work, you won't miss the gears. Second: we don't print a single range number, because it genuinely varies — assist level, hills, rider weight, even tire pressure can swing it widely. Tell us your weight and your typical route, and we'll give you an honest estimate.

    From Our Factory Floor

TrikExplor trikes are built by the same engineers who ride them — welded, assembled, and test-ridden in our Zhengzhou factory, then flat-packed and shipped direct. No middlemen, no showroom markup: that's how this spec lands at $2,099.

    Honest Steel

The M009FD uses a steel frame — it's how we keep this fold and this comfort at $2,099 Steel means the folded package weighs 40 kg: fine to tip and roll into a corner, heavy for lifting into a car or up stairs every day. If lifting is your daily reality, the M320 (19 kg, and it rolls like luggage) is worth the difference. If it's fold-and-store at home with an occasional trip in a bigger vehicle, keep the savings.

    FAQ

M009FD vs. M009 — what does the extra $400 buy?

Convenience, every single fold. Both fold in about 2 minutes — but the M009 needs a wrench and its seat removed, while the M009FD needs no tools and nothing comes off. It also lies flat instead of standing upright, and travels in larger trunks and back seats. The ride underneath is the same proven platform. Fold rarely, ride from home → M009. Fold often or carry it in a car → M009FD.

M009FD vs. M320 — both can go in a car?

Yes, differently. The M009FD (125 × 88 × 75 cm, 40 kg) fits larger trunks and back seats, and you lift it. The M320 (90 × 52 × 53 cm, 19 kg) fits virtually any trunk and rolls there on its own caster wheels. Occasional trips in a bigger vehicle → M009FD. Frequent loading, smaller cars, air travel → M320.

Will it fit my sedan trunk?

Probably not — 125 × 88 cm is bigger than most sedan openings. It fits larger trunks, SUVs, wagons (seats down), and across back seats. Email us your car model; we'll confirm honestly before you buy.

    40 kg — can I manage it?

You don't carry it, you tip and roll it — but loading into a car is a genuine two-handed lift. If that's daily life, the M320 at 19 kg is the right answer, and we'd rather tell you now.

Pedal or electric — which should I choose?

Flat routes and fitness focus → the pedal M009FD at $2,099 keeps it simple. Hills, longer distances, or knees that appreciate help → the M-009FE: 250W at $2,799 is smooth and EU-friendly; 500W at $3,199 (with a bigger 48V 20Ah battery) suits steeper terrain and heavier loads. You still pedal either way — the assist flattens the route, not the workout.

Does it have a parking brake?

Yes — standard on every TrikExplor trike.

    How hard is assembly?

Flat-packed with video guides; most owners finish in an afternoon, or any local bike shop can build it in about 2 hours.
